On 8 October 1977, Bud Spencer was a guest in the ZDF sports studio. Presenter Hanns Joachim Friedrichs welcomed Bud right at the start of the show, while Bud watched eagerly as former German internationals Franz Binder and Wolfgang Overath played a game of Tippkick. The interview with Bud Spencer began after a good 40 minutes. Bud first presented his new film Charleston, before talking about his sporting career and his views on the Italian national football team, which had lost its World Cup qualifying match against Germany that day.
