Ceremonial opening of the Terence Hill Museum in Lommatzsch
11.05.2019 - 13 Uhr - Terence-Hill-Museum, Am Markt 14, Lommatzsch
Mayor Anita Maaß Jorgo and Eric Thomas Danneberg
On Saturday, 11 May 2019, the Terence Hill Museum will open in Lommatzsch. We have been on site since Wednesday evening to help to set up and equip the museum. Just in time for the start of the official opening ceremony we have finished and also the guests of honour, the dubbing actor Thomas Danneberg and They call him Spencer protagonist Jorgo Papasoglou arrived in time. The ceremony starts punctually on the market square of the city of Lommatzsch, where the museum is located. The mayor of the city of Lommatzsch, Anita Maaß, takes the floor and greets the numerous fans on the market square. She is happy that the opening day has arrived and that Terence Hill's German homeland is slowly developing into a Mecca of Spencer/Hill fans with the Spencer/Hill Festival and the Terence Hill Museum. According to the mayor, the Spielmannszug Lommatzsch marches in and sets up under the improvised stage. Afterwards Eric Heyse is allowed to address a few words of welcome to the fans on behalf of the museum team. He shares the mayor's joy about the museum and finally welcomes Jorgo, who after a few words plays two Spencer/Hill songs on the accordion. First the melody of the Wild Horde from My Name is Nobody and as encore finally Flying through the Air from All the Way, Boys!. Afterwards initiator Michael Maaß declares the ceremony finished and announces the ceremonial cutting of the ribbon to a museum by guest of honour Thomas Danneberg. To the sound of the Spielmannszug the organizers and the guests of honour march to the entrance of the museum, where Thomas Danneberg finally cuts the ribbon. The museum is now open and the fans immediately stream through the entrance into the interior.

The museum itself consists of a small entrance area including the cash desk and a small merchandising shop. Through the entrance area the visitor finally enters the inner courtyard of the museum. Here the larger exhibits such as the faithful replica of the Ford Escort MK1 from Watch out, we are mad are exhibited. In addition, film posters and a detailed timeline biography of Terence Hill as well as large information boards on some of his films hang on a wall here. And of course there is also the entrance to the actual exhibition building. In the basement of the building there are information, posters and pictures from the youth and early career of Terence Hill. There is also a large information board commemorating Terence Hill's visit to Lommatzsch in 1995. On the opening day Thomas Danneberg, who is patiently available for photos and autographs, awaits the fans here. The upper floor consists of a small anteroom decorated with many film posters and an exhibition room with various showcases on various topics from Terence Hill's career. There are also replicas and original props from the films and there are some funny allusions to certain film scenes to be discovered.

From today until October, the museum is open on Saturdays and Sundays from 1 pm to 6 pm. On today's opening day, however, the museum is open a little longer, even though the crowds of visitors are slowing down until the evening. Despite the unfortunately bad weather, 600 visitors found their way to the museum and had a lot of fun. We met many old acquaintances again, made many new acquaintances and thus experienced a very positive day.
