In Arezzo in 1998 the jockey Fabrizio, who was competing for a Grand Prix, fell from his horse Brando and died leaving Rocco, the owner of the stable who had let it to him for eleven years, in a depressed state of mind. When Rocco comes back to the stable in 2009, the horse Brando dies. The death of the horse has depressed Serena, Fabrizio's 16 year old daughter. One day an injured female horse called Rebecca turns up which has quite a wild look with everybody, but a friendship is born between the young girl and the female horse. Patrizia, Fabrizio's widow, tells her daughter to stay away from Rocco and the stable, remembering the sad incident of her father's death. However, Patrizia thinks that it did happen because of Rocco and tells him that he did drug the horse Brando. In the second episode, whilst riding Rebecca, Serena falls from the horse and is hospitalized. Rocco tries to finally leave the stable and he confesses to Patrizia that he was not responsible for the incident, but rather Fabrizio himself. After the first race Serena wanted to participate in a Grand Prix, but the recent incident has troubled her opinion.
